FG Signs Landmark MoU With Unity Project Nigeria To Advance National Peace, Unity, And Security
Abuja, Nigeria – Friday, October 31, 2025
The Unity Project Nigeria (TUPN) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) under the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking a major milestone in its mission to foster peace, national unity, and security across the country.
The strategic partnership, signed today at the IPCR Headquarters in Abuja, aims to strengthen collaboration in civic dialogue, policy advocacy, peace education, and community engagement. Both institutions will work jointly to promote inclusiveness, national cohesion, and grassroots participation in peacebuilding efforts.
Speaking at the event, Madam Jennifer Serrano, Founder and President of The Unity Project Nigeria, described the partnership as “a decisive step toward institutionalizing peace and unity through multi-sectoral collaboration.” She expressed deep appreciation to the IPCR for its confidence in the initiative and reaffirmed TUPN’s commitment to mobilizing Nigerians toward peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect.

Serrano further highlighted that the MoU would serve as a springboard for the forthcoming Nigeria First Unity Summit and Unity Festival 2025, where stakeholders from government, civil society, traditional institutions, and youth groups will deliberate on a national blueprint for peace and unity.
In his remarks, the Director-General of IPCR, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, commended TUPN for its visionary approach to national integration and reiterated the Institute’s readiness to support partnerships that align with Nigeria’s peace and security objectives.
Earlier in the week, the Unity Project Nigeria secured the endorsement of Presidential Spokesperson, Dr. Daniel Bwala, who lauded the initiative as a timely national intervention. Dr. Bwala described the project as “a unifying force capable of rekindling faith in Nigeria’s shared destiny,” and called on public and private stakeholders to lend full support to its peace and unity agenda.
The signing ceremony was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. Emeka Mbah, Director, DG’s Office, IPCR; Hon. Michael Kabba, Patron, Unity Project Nigeria; Director, Legal Services, IPCR; Director, DG’s Office, IPCR; Director, Media and Public Affairs, IPCR; and the Technical Adviser to the DG, IPCR, among others — all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the success of this historic collaboration.
The MoU also provides for joint research, public sensitization campaigns, and policy advisory support toward achieving the shared goal of building a more peaceful, united, and resilient Nigeria.
