24, November 2025

Theme: Peace, Unity and Security – A Collective Responsibility

Members of the press, distinguished partners, representatives of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Jennifer Serrano Unity & Peace Foundation, The Unity Project Nigeria, members of the City Boy Movement, youth leaders, civil society organizations, religious and traditional leaders, ladies and gentlemen,

Good morning and thank you for joining us at this important World Press Conference ahead of the Renewed Hope Unity Summit & Festival.

As the Director General of the City Boy Movement, I am honored to address the nation today and to reaffirm our full commitment as one of the official partners of this historic national initiative.

A National Call at a Critical Time

Nigeria stands at a defining moment. Our nation faces challenges that test our unity, strain our peace, and demand collective action. But in the midst of these challenges, the Renewed Hope vision of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR reminds us that Nigeria’s strength lies in the resolve of her people.

It is in this spirit that we converge to emphasize the theme of this summit and festival:
“Peace, Unity and Security – A Collective Responsibility.”

Government Is Doing Its Part — Citizens Must Also Rise

We commend the continued efforts of the Federal Government and security agencies in protecting lives, strengthening national cohesion, and implementing reforms for the wellbeing of all Nigerians.

However, as we stand before the world today, we must deliver this message with clarity:
The government cannot do it alone.

Peace is not the duty of the government alone.
Unity is not the duty of leaders alone.
Security is not the duty of the military and police alone.

Every citizen has a role to play.

Our Message to the Nation

As partners of The Unity Summit and Festival, we call on all Nigerians:

  1. Religious leaders to preach peace, tolerance, and unity.
  2. Traditional institutions to strengthen community dialogue and conflict management.
  3. Youth and students become champions of peace, innovation, and nation-building.
  4. Business men and women to support empowerment, job creation, and ethical practices that improve national security.
  5. Civil society and the media to promote truth, responsible reporting, and positive narratives.

Every citizen to respect the rule of law, reject violence, avoid hate speech, and protect our national image.

Nigeria belongs to all of us; therefore, its peace and stability must be protected by all of us.

The Role of the City Boy Movement

The City Boy Movement (CBM) is proud to stand as a partner in this initiative because unity and youth empowerment are central to our mission.

We remain committed to:

Mobilizing young people across all states and communities

Promoting peaceful engagement and national orientation

Supporting government efforts toward security and unity

Working closely with institutions such as Institute of peace and conflict Resolution ( IPCR), Jeniffer Serrano Unity & Peace Foundation (SUPF), and The Unity Project Nigeria (TPUN) to deliver sustainable peace programs by encouraging responsible citizenship among the youths of Nigeria

A Call to National Responsibility

We therefore urge all Nigerians to see this summit not merely as an event, but as a reminder that our nation’s future depends on what we do today.

We must reject division.
We must reject incitement.
We must reject violence.

And together, we must embrace the values of cooperation, dialogue, tolerance, and unity.

Conclusion

As we proceed toward The Renewed Hope Unity Summit & Festival 2025, The City Boy Movement stands firmly with all partners in the mission to rebuild trust, inspire peace, empower youth, and strengthen national unity.

Let this press conference mark the beginning of a stronger, more united Nigeria—where citizens and government walk hand in hand to secure our future.

Peace begins with us.
Unity begins with us.
Security begins with us.

Thank you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
